A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a private communications network carried over a public network such as the Internet. They have two main applications:
- they allow companies to link together different offices
- they allow remote users to dial-in to their corporate networks
Whilst the tehcnical details are slightly different, the principle is the same, in that confidential data can be transmitted securely over the Internet. In the case of the first "office-to-office" application, this saves the huge cost of leased circuits, and in the second application allows remote users to access network resources from any location with a connection to the Internet.
Neonsky Systems work with all the major VPN and firewall technologies, including Cisco, Checkpoint, Sonicwall, F5 and Draytek. Contact us to discuss how we might help your organisation benefit from VPN communication.
